Last season Herd got injured while playing at RB. Hutton started warming up..
I sat 9 rows from the front and about 10 chairs to the left of our dugout.. so the players could hear everything...
Anyway, before he had even got on the pitch he was told he was shit, a thug, a piece of fucking c**ting shite (actual quote)
I turned round and said, listen love - thats not very lady like.
True story.
That sounds like his missus.

I am beginning to wonder if us going down for a season for the long term might not be a bad thing. Give the club/players time to re-group build their confidence etc.
I don't want that but how many seasons are we going to continue to struggle in The Prem.
I don't know what is right or wrong for us anymore, I really don't. I chop & change my mind on most of my thoughts of what should be done/happen
I always respect your opinion kefkat, however, the idea of being relegated just to re-group as a club and team is in my own opinion, totally unacceptable.

| It seems people don't seem to realise how competitive the Championship has become. Just look at Blackburn, Bolton and Wolves all struggling. Where as other clubs like Leicester have actually spent quite abit trying to get themselves promoted and have people knowing how the Championship works inside out.
Our club is gonna be an embarassment even in the Championship. Mark my owns. If our stupid chairman can't work out the Premier League despite being with us for over 6 years then he has no chance in the Championship. Also, he sells players and refuses to match wages to Premier League standard in the richest league in the world. Just imagine what that tight fucker will be like in a division that's at least 60m less.
Look at the players we have as well. All lightweights without the quality to back it up. In that league you need strong players and we haven't got any.
If we go down then that's it. We won't be going up again for a very long time. |

Morocco got knocked out of the ACN yesterday, surely KEA would be a better bet than Bannan.
Bannan is now getting the flak that Albrighton was getting prior to his injury.
While both are far from premier league quality players, and neither should be anywhere near a first team starting line up, it is still somewhat sad to hear them receive such vocal abuse when wearing the shirt.
Neither are good enough (include Lichaj in that assessment ), that is now becoming widely accepted, and while Albrighton's injury luckily for him took him out of the firing line, Bannan will no doubt continue to receive the flak, as he did at Millwall.
Unfortunately with the limitations we have, the options available, while BB could do with sitting out some games, it looks like he might again be forced into action.
Just keep him away from dead ball opportunities.
I hate to hear our own players get barracked and it really doesn't help the player or in general, the team.
What about poor old Geoff Vowden who he played for us in the early 70's. It was horrible and embarrassing for the guy.
I know he moved over the City from the filth but he didn't deserve that and it's something I haver never forgotten.
Anyway, back to the game..On our current form and lack of confidence, if we concede an early goal then I fear the worst and if we don't score then the atmosphere will become very hostile.
However, Newcastle are poor this season so I live in hope!
One things for sure, have a look at the new full-back for them Debuchy. I noticed him in the World Cup games for France and he is a fine, attacking full-back and if our club had any ambition then we should have been after him as well but we all know the reason for that but that is for another thread.
At the moment the points are far more valuable than any anti Lerner chants so good luck to the team.

I am not, never have been, never will be, a defeatist. The very thought disgusts me.
Defeatist thinking means that you, Joe Blow, Peter Public, assume that you are unable and not in a position to improve the situation, any situation. You have given up. You are beaten. You have surrendered.
Remember, it is merely an assumption, it is never, ever a fact.
And you are not replacing that assumption with another assumption.
This is not an effort to convince yourself of a positive thought. You are merely leaving the question where it really is.
You don’t know and when you truly don’t know, it is foolish to assume you’re helpless.
It is unnecessary and self-defeating to decide something cannot be done.
We are not going down. Not until its mathematically impossible to secure enough points to remain a top flight outfit will AVFC or its supporters surrender.
We shall beat Newcastle United on Tuesday evening. The revival will be underway.
We are not defeatists. We Are The Villans |

Absolutely agree Derek my good matey.
The very suggestion replulses** me.
** repulses - you most certainly dont repulse me kefkat. You're a top Villan, and I always have time and respect for your thinking and your observations.
But no, most definitely nay!nay!nay! Relegation and a spell in the championship is not an option. |

Keep On Rocking In That Free World Class Of 82.
I'm upbeat, positive, aggressive in my belief that we shall remain a premier league outfit. I will not be persuaded otherwise by the negative types who spout their doom and gloom.
And I shall remain seperated from them, and their miserable predictions, until at least five minutes into the game tomorrow evening, by which time I will no doubt re-adjust my thinking, and accept that the Championship beckons.
But until then.............................Positivity!

With our form, performance level, and miserable home record, I would imagine that every team that arrives at Villa Park, expects to return home with the points. Newcastle will be no different. |
