I think we are in for a bit of a rough season on current showing.

You're judging what the season is going to be like on the play in a pre season friendly, with multiple subs allowed and formations and players who have only played together a few times.

You believe that to be a valid prediction do you?

No I am going by the trend. Same as last pre season and the pre season before. Last pre season the pattern started to emerge that we were playing on the break (to put it kindly) and we sat deeper and deeper. Also McLieshes style started to emerge.

This pre season the trend has been if we win the midfield battle then we play some super stuff. However as we ramp up the intensity of the opposition we start to lose that possession advantage and start to break up.

I am hardly a doom and gloom merchant but we are about to play in the Premier League, just about all the teams look tougher than they did last season, so I am concerned.

As I mentioned, the plus side is we will be playing some exciting football. But I am not convinced this will be a comfortable mid table season for us.

Paul Lambert has rightly focused on our goalscoring exploits today, as opposed to silly errors that cost us the lead on more than one occasion.
