Here in Norway we get it on Netflix the day after it's shown in the States.

Can we assume you've watched the whole season 1 then?

I watched half of the first episode after the mid-season hiatus, when they had jumped to the alternative reality. I then asked myself why I was watching this drivel and turned it off.

Ah, that explains it. About two more episodes, and it starts to make sense. Don't give up!!!!!

Make sense or not, I wasn't enjoying it, it just didn't feel like Star Trek to me.

I'm enjoying the new Grand Tour season though.

It's certainly improved from the first run, although still needs tweaking. I'm not a fan of Celebrity Faceoff, and I really dislike the introduction graphics/music to that section.

When they broke the water speed record though, that was brilliant, "Top Gear" back to it's very best.

Yes celebrity faceoff is definitely the worst bit and I always fast forward it.

The Derry Girls on 4OD.

Just watched 3 episodes and episode 3 had me in tears...

But for the definitive answer, we need Trekker's opinion of Discovery.

The main change is the continuous story throughout the series. Star Trek has traditionally done individual episodes, sometimes fitting into a wider plot, but essentially, a new mission every time.

It's nice that they tried something new, and it has got good reviews. If it's not your cup of tea, there's plenty of other shows out there, so you're still covered.

On a similar note, I've got The Orville ready to watch. Anybody got any views on it? It seems a bit of a parody of all the space series, so hopefully it will be funny.

That episode they did where they did everything 'unscripted' was utter shite. It felt like two fingers to their fans. I haven't watched it since. It's not often where you feel insulted watching a TV show.

Collateral. New BBC drama, reckoned it HAD to be better than Requiem. Enjoyed it, the main cop was relatively normal, no predictable ‘washed-up / alcoholic / divorced / feeling-sorry-for-myself-all-the-time-but-I’m-the-best-you-got / maverick / bends-the-rules / no-nonsense / cop-on-the-edge bollocks.
BTW what exactly is a no-nonsense cop? Is there such thing as a nonsense cop...all frizzy hair, air horn and clown shoes? “Loo-tenant! You’re gonna wanna see this! Parp-parp”

Yes, agreed, fairly decent, not earth shattering, but worth reading.

And lol, as opposed to a total nonsense cop I suppose!

Requiem was disappointing to be honest and the end just about managed to limp across the finishing line for me.......
