Fucking ridiculous that he is on loan at olympiakos with the squad we have got and the excuses ginger bollocks makes for having no experienced players. Never going to be our saviour but fuck me...id take him over the bald fairy and the youngsters who are getting fucked about in and out of the team at the moment.

good shout on AVB i think he could be a good manager at a club like ours where he wouldnt have so much presher on him and he would be left to get on with what he does best
i think he would also like to prove a few guys in the press wrong and he can build a good footballing side
be ever better if he could get ray wilkins in to as his assistant

would basically be tasked with the same job he had at chelsea i.e. get rid of all the old timers and build for the future except here he wouldnt have the worry of needing to qualify for the champions league.. all he would have to worry about is not flirting with the relegation zone to be considered a success. however, we've seen what can happen and houllier basically suffered the same fate at villa as what AVB did at chelsea when he pissed off all the older guys.

in saying that, most of the wage trimming is pretty much done so detractors would be fewer in numbers you would think. am still a big fan of his and would probably take him over rodgers given he's seen a bit more of the big time but whether he'd want to come to villa is debatable. spain is probably his next port of call i would think. plus he isnt tied down by a contract and rodgers just signed a new 3yr deal at swansea so we'd save a bit of coin there...

Olympiakos paid us a loan fee for Makoun, and as such, we cannot recall him.

Yea AVB and Wilkins would be the dream, I like Wilkins and I think he would help with the problems that qldvillan has pointed out with the seniors. Whenever I have seen him as a pundit on TV he always comes across as a very clever and knowledgeable man

ok then thats it they can have the job and we could keep the ginger mc shit on as a handyman to unblock the loo's on match days and picking up the pie lids from under the seats
would love to see avb and ray wilkins in the dug out . and lets face it it would take a bold apiontment like that to attract the players needed to get us back in the good times . because why else would a class player wanna come to play for us bottom half of the table and a wage cap

fresh start, why not?

Could be (cliche warning) just like a new signing!

He must have a year or two left on his contract with Villa I would think!?

Two years left on his contract

Olympiakos are broke apparently because of the state of the Greek economy so they can't afford him. May as well give him a proper run and take it from there.

Didn't think I was bothered about the Greek economy but went to Sainsbury yesterday for my Greek yoghurt and it had gone up from 85p to £1

Now I'm suffering along with our Greek brothers!

How can a player with Champions League experience at two clubs not have something to offer?
Never given a realistic chance by McLeish and his anti football. Let's hope his attitude towards the club has not been soured.
Surely worth a squad place if wages aren't an issue.

I dont know if he will make it - but what is clear is that he certainly deserves a chance as much as anyone else.

I hope he stays. I didn't think he was up to much in his first season, but not many foreign players do come in and turn it on straight away.

Good spot Plastic.

Agreed northampton, got to have something to offer and we might as well get some value from all that money spent.

He looked very lightweight in most of the matches but was quality on his home debut. Must have something about him and definitely worth a look again. Better than a centre half in midfield surely!

Give him a go! Might as well see if he has something to give seeing as we paid for him and have never used him. It would be daft to sell him on at a loss when he has never been tried and tested properly

It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. Champions League experience....... I'm sure PL will want a look at him. He deserves a chance after being fucked about so much. If he wants a chance that is......which I hope he does.
