Finally got round to watching Birdman, having accidentally watched AntMan last time.

Thought it was really good.... bit wierd... but really good.

Seems like there's a bunch of movies every year that come out just to be nominated for Oscars. Like this.

Meh.

I think it's probably because film critics watch a lot of films. If you are watching films all the time, another Fast N Furious isn't going to float your boat.

I watched Patterson a few weeks ago. It's basically a film about poetry. Nothing happens in the film. It's just this dude writing poems about his life. It's pretty boring but it's different.

True BB, some of the nominees like Arrival and Hacksaw Ridge deserved nominations, but I think some films are just trying to tick the Oscar boxes.

This is funny but true...

Supersonic. The Oasis film/documentary.

Huge trip down memory lane. I was at the first night of knebworth and seeing the footage from there I will admit nearly bought a tear to my eye. Especially the champagne supernova footage at the end. Just a significant time/era in my life. I had listened to my mum and dad go on about the 60's and at last it seemed we had something similar, music, culture even football- Euro 96. Didn't last long though but hey ho for 2 or 3 years it was great.

Christine

True story about the news reporter Christine Chubbuck. If you don't know the story I won't spoil it. Painful viewing, but a very a good movie and great performance from Rebecca Hall.

Why Him? - Brian Cranston and James Franco star in this comedy which is completely inappropriate for 5 or 7 years old girls but it's pretty funny.

I had to watch it over 3 sittings so I never really managed to get into the story.

Saw Why Him the other day too. Not bad i thought. Funny in parts

Brimstone with Guy Pierce - he's really good in the film. It's not a bad film at all. I like the way it was filmed and the acting was good.

One of those end to start films though so don't expect to understand everything immediately.

Found the subject of the plot weird too.

Watched Why Him over the weekend too.

You know exactly what you're getting with those movies. Completely predictable, a few laughs, a few hours passed by, job done.

Keep cranking them out Hollywood, they serve a purpose.

Lawless.

About three brothers bootlegging during US prohibition.

Tom Hardy at his mumbling best. Also starred Shia lebeouf, Guy Pierce and Gary Oldman.

Pretty decent.
