Even in dubbed into French it's terrific.

A lot of glowing reviews of this Wes Anderson film but I found it a bit too concocted and confected for my taste, like OD'ing on sweets and cake.

Remake of 'Evil Dead' - very mean spirited (pun intended) and certainly lacks the jet black humour of the original. Both me and Mrs. 4Pope enjoyed it though - above average gore-fest.

The Evil Dead is one of my top ten favourite films. Its a classic. I wouldn't even think about watching a remake of it! How dare they!

I'm giving this one a VERY wide berth!

Definitely one that could be filed under 'unnecessary remake' - watch-able tripe but doesn't stand up to comparison with the original which is, as you say, a classic.

I like how they've given the ending away with the quote on the front!

I'm getting a very 'Rocky IV' vibe from that cover - I can picture a scene at the end where they carry his body out whilst Al Qaeda insurgents chant 'USA! USA!'

The Hobbit .. The Desolation Of Smaug... Very good, but amazingly expensive on sky box office, over a fiver the buggers.

Superman, man of steel. I get a bit bored after a while with these sort of films, but not a bad take on the story really. Never been my favourite superhero!

Crank, starring Jason Statham. Saw it a couple of years ago whilst in Indonesia. Good to see it again.

Her (Spike Jonze, 2014)

Excellent film about a guy who falls in love with his computer's operating system. But if your OS is Scarlett Johansson, who wouldn't?

The Appearance. Bit of a B movie co starring Don Swayze (Patricks' brother). Not a bad film if you like possessions and evil spirits etc.

Safe House - typical American shooty, car chasey nonsense. Denzel Washington plays the same old character and Ryan Reynolds is as wooden as always. You've seen it before but probably done better.

I don't usually go for these 'movies' with the hand held videocam style, but I've just watched Devils' Due and I must say, it was quite good.

No-one I recognised, but for me quite impressive if you like that 'anti christ' type of movie.
