Majority Want Moore and Phillips

Vital Villa asked who should start up front against Newcastle at the weekend following the news that Milan Baros should be fit to return having recovered from a tight hamstring.

With Kevin Phillips and Luke Moore destroying Middlesbrough last weekend, it seems the vast majority think O'Leary should start with that pairing again. 79% said that Phillips and Moore should start as they did the business last game. I must admit I agree with that, it would de-motivate them after scoring such great goals (Phillips a great flicked header and Moore a hat-trick).

7% say that Baros and Moore should start - and for a good few games that has been O'Leary's favoured option, leaving Angel on the bench (Phillips was injured at that time). 10% say Baros and Phillips and only 4% of those that polled voted for Angel with another striker.

Our latest poll is asking which Villa player will make the biggest impact at the world cup this year with Baros the early runaway leader.

I want to see More of Moore! When he's on the pitch and your sitting in the Holtend wondering where the goals will come from, you have that hope that his young and thriving talent will inspire Villa to picking up points. He sneaks in out of no where and bangs one in. Lets face it - minutes on the pitch Im sure he has been our best striker for 2 seasons now? Dont quote me on that - anyone willing to do the math?

The danger is, as with most clubs, is that when you are not scoring, you think there is someone who can. Sometimes they do, normally they don't. Which will probably be the case with Robbie Fowler.

He is our top Prem scorer (7) this season now, Baros is top with 8 in all comps and Davis 7 in all comps. Will try to find out last seasons top scorers, don't have the info to hand.

2004/05 season he made 27 appearances, though all but 5 were as a substitute. He scored only once - the second in a 2-0 home victory to Middlesborough.

After last weeks performance i would hope Luke and SKP are given the chance to carry on. Newcastle have quite a shakey defence and with Luke on form and SKP playing against his old rivals they have reasons to shine

I think Villa need a big striker if you want to play Moore. He is quite small!

Young Luke probably deserves to start following his hat-trick, but he'll soon be really put to the test. He'll no longer be the young upstart lining up alongside one of our big name strikers, he'll be a marked man himself. I personally would start with Milan and Super Kev. Lets bring Luke along as we have been doing, for the remainder of this campaign at least. Bring him on slowly.
