'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Aitkin Joins The New Positive Vibe!

Roy Aitken has got into this new positive vibe thing going on!

The Villa's assistant manager has come out in praise of James Milner who came to Villa on loan in part of the deal that saw Nobby 'I wouldn't expect a nice welcome back' Solano move in the opposite direction.

Aitkin told the official site: 'Nobby and James are different types of players. Everyone knows about Nobby from a creative point of view. James has got the industry, but with the experience he is getting, he is also showing his quality as well on the ball. He is creating things and that is something that will come in his game as he gets more experience, knowing when to take up positions.'

He added: 'James is another one, like Steven Davis, in the sense that he listens to what we tell him. As coaches, it's like giving the players to tools to work with. They take on board what we tell them and their own experience then enables them to adapt. James has shown that as well this year. James listens and learns. We don't make him a player. He makes himself a player. He was always a talent as a 15/16 year old.'
Milner is unable to play this weekend against his 'parent' company as per the terms of the loan.

I think it's vital (excuse the pun) that we get Milner on a permanent deal. Him, Davis, Barry + another could prove a formidible midfield for many years and take this club forward.
