'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Barry On Jlloyd

Gareth Barry has waxed lyrical about Jlloyd Samuel's performance against Chelsea in last nights 1-1 draw, as have many fans. What people seem to forget is that Jlloyd has had a season ravaged by injuries and then playing with niggles has impacted on his form, as has a dip in confidence. He is still a quality player and a good prospect for the future. The sort of player that we should be developing and bringing on!

Barry, who links up well with Jlloyd on the left, said: 'I think Jlloyd Samuel deserved a lot of credit for his performance. I spoke to him beforehand about confidence and, once he won a couple of challenges, you could see the confidence returning. He's had a spell out of the side and nobody likes that. We've all been in that position and you just have to wait for your chance and grab it when it comes along.'

Adding: 'Jlloyd will be hoping he's done just that with this performance and hopefully he can build on it for the rest of the season.'
Villa face Middlesbrough on Saturday, lets hope the confidence they all gained from the fabulous display against Chelsea is reflected in three points by the end of the game!
