O'Leary 16/1 To Be A Magpie

David O'Leary obviously still has some credit with his managerial skills as he is in the bookies William Hills list of potential new managers at Newcastle.

O'Leary, who has stated recently how 'frustrated' he was that he couldn't even bring in a 'ten bob' loan player to Villa and has criticised the lack of funds on numerous occassions, was one of the favourites to replace Sir Bobby Robson until Newcastle shocked everyone and hired Mr Average, Graeme Souness (that is average as a manager by the way, great player and always seems a good chap!).

This time around Alan Shearer is favourite with odds of 7/2. Surely it would be madness for him to take such a high profile job when he has no managerial experience? The player is a Toon legend, why ruin it?

Mystifyingly, despite being temporarily in charge, Glenn Roeder - former West Ham boss - is second favourite at 5/1.

Martin O'Neil weighs in at 7/1 although I hope that one is wide of the mark, I want him at Villa Park once we have new owners!

Sven Goran Erikkson is at 8/1 although the odds don't mention whether he would bring his fake Sheikh or go to Geordieland alone.

Amazingly Birmigham City boss Steve Bruce has been put as high as 11/1

Bobby Robson and Sam Allardyce are both 12/1 although neither seem likely. Big Sam wants the England job and the board of Newcastle will surely not admit to making a mistake and take back Sir Bobby?

Then comes our very own David O'Leary, who started with long odds last time only to creep up into evens at one point. Charlton's Alan Curbishly is also at 16/1.

20/1 has Hughes, Coppell, Warnock,Pardew, Pearce; Hitzfeld; Hiddink;
40/1 has Terry Venables; 50/1 Arry Redknapp and the rest just get silly! 66/1 Ferguson; 100/1 Mourinho and Keegan; 500/1 Gazza; 1000/1 Ant & Dec!!!
