1) Did you think we should have had a penalty and were you disappointed not to be granted one?
To be honest John Terry has been getting away with illegitimate use of the arm quite a lot this season. There have been a number of occasions when the opposition have screamed 'PENALTY' only to be denied by the referee. At some time or another the odds suggest one will be awarded, I thought last night was that night. However, Styles made a similar mistake last season and perhaps he thought he was evening matters up in his own surreal sort of way. When Robben went down after Samuel had impeded him, I guess Styles was, by now, totally perplexed by the whole situation he'd personally created. Thinking he'd cocked up in the first half, perhaps he thought he was just evening things up (again). No doubt both were penalties, Lampard would have tucked his away but would you have beaten the giant Czech?
2) Did you think Villa did enough to beat you last night?
On reflection you probably just shaded it but as is often the case we battle through and come out of the game with something. You know how some people are just born lucky? Well I have this theory that Mourinho is one such person. Or do you make your own luck in this world?
3) What did you think of the home support?
Villa Park has always been a noisy place. I can recall the days when the Holte End was just one big terrace, it was a formidable site. The advent of seating has seen the atmosphere reduced at most grounds but once Villa sensed that they could get something out of the game, the noise levels were upped and the last ten minutes especially were quite vociferous.
4) Is drawing against Villa acceptable or is it 2 points dropped?
Immediately after the game I thought it was two points dropped. However, after hearing the other contenders had either lost or also drawn it didn't seem too bad. It was disappointing not to win after taking the lead but then again we could easily have lost it in the second half. The draw matches last season and overall we're still four points better off in this campaign than we were last year unfortunately those that are chasing us are poorer than last season apart from our old adversaries Liverpool.
5) Why do you never win at Villa Park!?
I honestly don't know! Our last success there was against Fulham in the FA Cup semi-final. Quite why two clubs from West London were playing in a half
empty Villa Park that night still bemuses me. Last night we had the perfect platform to put the record straight but it just didn't happen. Perhaps our minds were on other things, perhaps we thought the job was done after the opening goal or perhaps we underestimated you. No doubt Spurs fans think the same about why they can't beat us in the Premiership, at least we have the comfort of having taken the odd point or two since March 1999.
