'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Baros To Stave Off Relegation

Milan Baros is hoping that his brace against Port Vale in the FA Cup will boost his confidence and get him firing them in during the Premiership games.

He explained to the official site 'It's been difficult for me. I feel my fitness is okay now but I really do need to get my confidence back now and play well again in the Premier League. It's true to say that my confidence is not the best now but I have to work on that and the only way to get it back is to score more goals. It's as simple as that.'

He also says that changing clubs isn't easy and says the injuries he picked up didn't help either and although he won't set himself targets he thinks there is far more to come from him in the run in to the end of the season.

The former Liverpool strikers assessment of where Villa are in the league also makes a refreshingly honest read:

'I came to Villa because I thought they were capable of getting into Europe but that may be next season now. First of all, we have to concentrate on getting out of relegation problems and that means staying focused for all our Premiership games. We have to go along game by game and wait and see what happens. It was a shame we played four games over Christmas and were unbeaten and then lost to West Ham at home.'

Adding this Wednesday's game against Chelsea is 'big for the fans and the players. We know they will be favourites and we have nothing to lose in that game.'

He's one of the many suggested to be off in the summer so does it matter? I think he must be a very disapointed player, and living in the hope that he can perform well in the World Cup. Simialrly O'leary must be as disapointed that all the promises made to him have slowly disapeared down the same drain as most fans hopes.
