'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Villa Times - 30/01/06

Villa have been drawn to play Manchester City at Villa Park in the 5th round of the FA Cup.

James Milner has said that Villa can beat anyone on their day and they mustn't show Chelsea too much respect. 'we know we can beat anyone on our day with the players we've got, if we play well. Hopefully we've turned a corner at Villa Park and we can make it a difficult place to come.'

O'Leary could well re-call Kevin Phillips to the starting line up against Chelsea following his great 22 minute return on Saturday. O'Leary said 'It was good to have Kevin back. He is a really good player and there is no doubt we have missed him.'

Wilfred Bouma has gone back to Holland to get specialist treatment to his damaged knee ligaments. O'Leary admits he doesn't know how long the Dutch international will be out but confirms he won't need an operation. Full story: Click Here

Midfielder Stephen Foley has sealed a permanent move to League One side Bournemouth following his loan spell from Aston Villa. Full story: Click Here

We asked are Hummel the right kit suppliers for Villa. 18% said yes, they are good. 57% there are average and Villa should attract better and 25% said no, they are rubbish. I'm with the no brigade I'm afraid, a club like Villa should be aiming so much higher!

Racing Santander are said to be looking to grab Eric Djemba-Djemba on loan before the transfer deadline.

Milan Baros says he may have to wait until next season to hope for Europe, this season is about avoiding the drop. He is also hoping his goals in the FA Cup will help his confidence. 'I came to Villa because I thought they were capable of getting into Europe but that may be next season now. First of all, we have to concentrate on getting out of relegation problems and that means staying focused for all our Premiership games.'

O'Leary is looking to Kevin Phillips to become our new playmaker dropping just behind Milan Baros in attack. Full story: Click Here
