'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Foyled Again!

Port Vale manager Martin Foyle says he thought Vale could have grabbed an FA Cup replay if they hadn't wasted several golden chances.

He said: 'The lads were disappointed afterwards because they thought they could have got something out of the game. Villa were a bit nervous because of their crowd and we got to half-time being level which was our main objective after frustrating them.'

Villa were roundly booed off the pitch at half time having not exactly dazzled in the first half. However the main thing is we won and can look forward to the 5th round draw on Monday lunch time.

Foyle continued: 'They scored at the right time and I thought the second goal had killed the game off but we then had a real go at them. They were on the back foot and we had three or four good chances. Sean Doherty had a couple of good opportunities and on another day they might have gone in but we played well and, like I said, felt we could have got something here.'

Vale certainly put up a battle and the majority of their fans did their club proud. Not so sure about the numpty who ran onto the pitch, although I must say he did well to stand his ground with five stewards not being able to shift him! Still, he'll get a 3000 fine and a ban from all grounds now, hope he thinks it was worth the trip!
