O'Leary - We Made Life Difficult

Following the 3-1 win over Port Vale in the FA Cup 4th round today, David O'Leary told the official site:

'We made life difficult for ourselves, but we're through and that's what matters.'

Says it all really. The first 70 minutes were average verging on dire; but he is right, all that matters is that we are through to the fifth round draw to take place monday lunch time.
O'Leary told www.avfc.co.uk: 'I thought it was a good cup tie. I thought we controlled it all the way through, but we went in at half-time goalless, after really dominating. In the first-half we were poor in the last third and the final pass was missing when we did create chances. But we showed good concentration at the back and eventually the goals came. Once we got to 2-0, that should have been that.'

Adding: 'If you get a good draw, you never know. Hopefully this is going to be a good competition for us this season.'

There will be a Villa World TV News interview with O'Leary on Monday. I can't wait, no, honestly, I can't!
