Samuel Has Nothing To Prove

David O'Leary has told Jlloyd Samuel that he now has his left back position back and 'The shirt is yours to lose.'

Jlloyd will fill the void at left back, the same position that used to be his by rights! With Gareth Barry suspended and Wilfred Bouma still struggling with his knee injury,
O'Leary confirmed on the official site:

'He will play left-back. Competition is good and anyone who can't cope with that is in trouble. Being at a big club is all about competing for your place....So I hope Jlloyd plays well and we want him to play well. And if plays well and he's outstanding, then he'll stay in the team.'

And Samuel says he is determined to take his chance but says he has nothing to prove:

'At the end of the day it is another game really, to play in and hopefully get through and have a good performance. I take each game as it comes really. I know it's an old footballer's cliché. I'm in to play this game and I can only try and give my best and do myself justice. Do I have a point to prove? No, just to myself really. I know my ability. I played against West Ham and felt good in that game. I've shown people that I still have got ability and I just want to do the same again.'

I just hope the boo boys get off the players back. I have never been able to figure why home fans would boo their own player, exactly what do they think it will achieve?
