Who Is Being Linked In And Out Of Villa Park Today?

Looks like most of the transfer talk relating to Aston Villa, apart from wild or ridiculous speculation on click-bait sites, is about exits.

It makes sense, there are fringe players who need regular first team football and can`t get it at Villa, former AFC Bournemouth legend Tommy Elphick for one. And then there is the player and his gate who won`t get a look in at Villa now. Bruce has made it clear he isn't in his plans so Villa might as well get some money back for him, despite the massive hit financial hit. That player being Ross McCormack obviously. Firing them in down under but lets be honest, that league is not exactly top quality is it?

Anyway, as I`ve not done any speculation recently, the Birmingham Mail say that Leeds United might be in for both players for around £7million.

Only the CEO Keith Wyness knows what value he wants from these sorts of players, but reducing our wage bill and freeing up some funds seems sensible due to the struggles with the awful Financial Fair Play rules.

Keith talked with the fans on Radio WM this week, the one point he made was that there are players that the club could offload but you can only do that if you have an interested buyer. With Micah Richards not fit and Gabby Agbonlahor being linked with an exit as his contract runs out in the summer, Mr W points out that there have been no enquiries about either.

Birmingham Mail have the quotes:

"Gabby has been trying to contribute, I know Micah hasn`t played for a while, but in order to move someone on, you`ve got to have a club that wants to buy that player. At this stage, we`ve had no interest for either player. Gabby will be out of contract at the end of this year, and there`ll have to be a decision made as to whether we want to keep him."

And maybe a hint that they will try to pay off Micah:

"With Micah, he`s got an extra year even after that. We need to see if there`s some way we can find an accommodation for Micah that suits him and us."

Oh and John Percy believes the rumours we are after Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe might be true. Not sure why when we have enough options that we`d want a loan to fill a position that doesn`t need filling? And Ritchie De Laet might also be on his way out. Don`t think he`d be a great loss would he?

Looks sensible to get rid of those players not regularly used. As long as we have enough cover obviously

Richards to go in the summer and surely not another contract for Gabby ... we need to progress, promotion is so vital to ensure we keep the promising youngsters, the way he's playing if we don't go up clubs would be knocking at the for Jack's signature !!!!! Promotion a MUST.

I'd like to think we would be asking ?7m for Fat Ross alone - that would still be a pretty big hit for us financially. My only issue with that one is, should we be selling to clubs who could well be challenging us for promotion places? A target man is what I'd still like to see come in, Hogan may be knocking them in now but his injury record worries me to death.

"Gabby will be out of contract at the end of this year, and there`ll have to be a decision made as to whether we want to keep him." Hopefully that decision has already been made!! Feel a bit sorry for de Laet, never had the chance to establish himself under - obviously not Bruce's cup of tea. It still irritates me that we have a £12m striker scoring for fun in Australia, and yet there is no way back for him into Bruce's plans, leaving us with only Hogan and Davis as properly recognised, fit strikers.

If we could sell McCormack for 50 quid I would take it. Best to get these high paid idiots off the wage bill (gabby and micah)

So De Laet has gone to Antwerp on loan. Loan, loan, loan..... when we going to actually get some money in instead of loans? And still we wait for someone coming in..........................
