A Rumour Round Up For Wednesday

A Rumour Round Up For Wednesday

Aston Villa are linked with a double swoop from Leicester, we're in a battle with Brentford for a striker, Middlesbrough get a passing mention and Lewis Grabban is back amongst the speculation as well.

Beginning with the Leicester City links, the Telegraph yesterday evening suggested that Steve Bruce was hoping to take long linked striker Leonardo Ulloa out on loan and he was also interested in Daniel Amartey.

They claim we have 'launched' the double raid and that with funds for two loan signings in January, these two are his preferred options.

Ulloa has had limited game time for a while at Leicester and he has made some rumblings of a move in the past, but the Telegraph believe the deal will hinge on a guaranteed permanent move come the summer.

Amartey is a versatile defender and can also operate in midfield. The Ghana international is more known as a right back though and right back isn't exactly an issue for us is it!

He's also featured for them 14 times so far this year, so that one feels like a non starter to me.

The paper also claim that Millwall have made an approach for Tommy Elphick on a loan deal.

As for the link with Middlesbrough, well that's Adam Clayton. The Birmingham Mail pick up on loose speculation saying he's also a potential target for Bruce. But the midfielder is also said to be a target for new Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka. Clayton was a regular under him at Boro, falling out of favour under Garry Monk apparently.

Lewis Grabban features again, but from what I can tell in the Official Site it's a rehash from a few weeks back, with some kind of approach taking place from both Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Finally, an Irish Examiner report at the back end of the year claimed that a number of Championship clubs were looking seriously at Limerick attacker Chiedozie Ogbene. Those reports seem to have been given a rehash with Villa and Brentford now name checked as having an interest in the 20 year old.

The Winger apparently recently had trials at Chelsea, but despite already making a name for himself in Ireland, he'd be one very much for the future you'd think.

Is Amartey better than Hutton then? Seems pointless to me.

I guess nothing will happen until the end of the window anyway, so we might as well sit back, relax........ and let the frustration grow.
