A Delighted Scott Hogan - And Rightfully So

A Delighted Scott Hogan - And Rightfully So

Scott Hogan interviewed after the 5-0 thrashing of Bristol City. As you can see from the video, he says he thinks the win in that style has been coming:

He also talks about playing with freedom and enjoying it. That`s what a lot of us have banged on about for a very long time. Just let them go out full of confidence and go for it. With Grealish and Hourihane being given more license, it made us a different team. Lovely to see Hogan score as well and he adds he`ll always work hard and wants to reward the fans as he`s not done what he`s wanted to so far.

Myself and Deanovilla have a few quid on him being first scorer. £50 win. Nice, thanks Scott!

And quite rightly he says he needs a run, it`s difficult to stay sharp when you aren`t starting. Hopefully this is the start of a great run for Hogan, goodness knows we need the striker to lead the line for us with Kodjia out with a long term injury. I was arguing about Scott in the forum as some say he`s not good enough. There is a pattern with strikers, we buy them, don`t play to their strengths and they fail. I don`t think this game is rocket science, get the striker the right supply, they`ll do the rest.

Buzzing for Scott after yesterday and now we can hopefully look forward to seeing him try to catch up Albert Adomah on the top scorer list.

like what Hogan says here , freedom , the vast majority of our games we seem to be playing with the handbrake on, last night although there sometimes was too much of the passing across the midfield and backwards there was also more direct hard running, this panics defenders and the result last night speaks or itself.

He worked hard yesterday and got his reward, maybe that's what his tweet what hinting at. At Brentford, on 3 occasions Davis flicked it on and he was standing like a statue 20 yards away - he should have been gambling on Keinan winning it and trying to get on the end of it. Thats just basics! Maybe they've been working hard with him at Bodymoor over Xmas

Spare a thought for our very own Clubpaver who backed us to win 5-1 and would have mopped up £750 had we done so.

Chuffed for Scotty. Good goal, could of had a second if it wasn't for a good save - fortunately Snoddy finished it off. Yeah, all Scotty needs is a run in the side and playing to his strengths. It's certainly not rocket science. However, this takes us back to the Bent scenario, when we didn't play to his strengths. But hopefully we can get over this and play to Scotties.

Play to his strengths, get him confident and he'll show why we paid so much. Expect him to be Kodjia or Mary Poppins and he'll be a waste. Very good Bent reference PoL to be honest, Hogan could be even more prolific though if we play to his strengths.
