The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Derby County and Aston Villa this Saturday. Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness confirmed yesterday that half season ticket sales were soaring, with our biggest take up for the last five seasons. Sitting in the Play Off spots and many hoping between now and May we can get ourselves into those automatic places for promotion, on Wednesday the January-May half season ticket sales went through the 1,000 barrier and Villa are confident that's not the end of the demand. Following Tuesday night's FA Cup second round replays, Aston Villa now know we will face Peterborough United in the third round of the competition. The draw for the third round stage put us up against Peterborough or Woking, and with the Posh taking a five two victory the other night, the tie at Villa Park has now been confirmed. The match against the League One side will take place on Saturday January 6 and will carry a 3pm kick off.

Talking to The Guardian Poch revealed recall clauses for both, and it seems there is a real possibility that we might recall our two academy graduates as injuries and tiredness seem to have taken its toll recently and perhaps Poch is thinking about how to inject some fresh blood into the mix for the second half of the season.
