As per the speculation a few days ago, it's now being reported that Jordan Amavi has completed a permanent switch to Marseille. Following the announcement of his maiden call up to the senior French international side for October's international games, it was being suggested by media in France that Marseille had now enacted the speculated buy clause that was in his loan deal and it is worth a reported £8.9million to us. It appears the EFL have come up with another way of screwing loyal fans, however well intentioned their original idea may have been. It was only at the end of last month (Click Here) I was talking about falling attendances in the EFL Cup, despite attendances being propped up by some of the sides involved, and how inadvertently the EFL bending to sponsor wishes to have draws abroad and at 'silly o'clock times' had only exacerbated a diminishing view of the competition from fans, especially as a growing numbers of sides (and now at all levels) seem to routinely make greater changes to the sides as they prioritise league competition. Robert Snodgrass and Conor Hourihane have been speaking this week and they both believe that the squad can match Steve Bruce's challenge of 'taking on the division' this season. Aston Villa left back Neil Taylor has lost his Football Association appeal following his straight red in the game against Bolton Wanderers last weekend. Whilst Villa won the game one nil with a first half Jonathan Kodjia penalty, Taylor saw red from a diabolical referee Jeremy Simpson late on in the game for a challenge on Adam Le Fondre. Aston Villa skipper John Terry knows the club are going into a 'huge game' against Wolverhampton Wanderers when the international break comes to an end. With the international break now in full flow, September saw us pick up 14 points from a possible 18 as our form turned around, and we now go into next week's trip to the Molineux before we face Fulham and then Birmingham, Terry knows it's important we maintain the momentum we've built over the last few weeks.
