Bruce Looking For Middlesbrough Win

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce's press conference ahead of the Middlesbrough clash took place earlier today and he again confirmed it would be a mixed starting eleven for the third round League Cup tie.

With a mix of fringe experience and youth in previous rounds, Bruce sees no reason for that to change tonight as we look to book our place in Wednesday's fourth round draw but of course the important point is taking back to back wins to build some momentum ahead of the weekend's Championship clash.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media, the gaffer explained.

'We`ve had two good results in this competition and we want a third. We want to progress to build a bit of momentum too. We had a good result at Barnsley and we want to keep that winning feeling. There`s nothing better for confidence than having that winning feeling.'

Bruce went on to say.

'If we can get through tonight it will give us that added spring heading into the Nottingham Forest game on Saturday. In this competition so far I have blended experience and youth and I plan on doing the same tonight. But, the key point is, regardless of the people in the team I pick, I`m looking for them to do the business and get us a win this evening.'

As far as I'm aware we have no fresh injury concerns, but neither do we welcome anybody back. Keinan Davis is out of the game as Bruce explained the other day as he's been given a bit of time to recharge given his unexpected involvement so far and international duty over the break.
