Villa Get Another Home Tie In Farcical League Cup Draw

Villa Get Another Home Tie In Farcical League Cup Draw

I`m not naming the ridiculous sponsors of the League Cup after their stupid idea to have the draw live in China... hence 4.15 am in the UK.

I know it`s not 'that` big a deal to many but it`s this slow erosion of all our traditions, thanks to the money men in football, that is taking the game further and further away from us fans.

With that said, Aston Villa have once again been drawn at home in the Cup. The 3rd round tie will be against Middlesbrough.

The tie will be played the week commencing September 18 - just a week after our home league clash with Middlesbrough.

Be good if the club price this very keenly for season ticket holders to ensure at least a half decent attendance. The match v Wigan was just over 18 000

The full 3rd round draw:

West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City
Everton v Sunderland
Leicester City v Liverpool
Manchester United v Burton Albion
Brentford v Norwich City
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Bristol Rovers
Burnley v Leeds
Arsenal v Doncaster Rovers
Bristol City v Stoke City
Reading v Swansea City
Aston Villa v Middlesbrough
Chelsea v Nottingham Forest
West Ham United v Bolton Wanderers
Crystal Palace v Huddersfield Town
Tottenham Hotspur v Barnsley/Derby County
Bournemouth v Brighton and Hove Albion

Decent draw. Another good chance to give youth a fling with nothing much to lose.
