Hourihane In Team Of The Week (22/8/17)

Hourihane In Team Of The Week (22/8/17)

Aston Villa are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Conor Hourihane in the four two victory over Norwich City at the weekend at Villa Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Hourihane was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'There had been hat-tricks on both weekends of the new campaign so far, and it was Villa`s midfield maestro that extended that run to a third week. Sliding home the opener, the Irishman added two more from outside the box to help the Villans register a first win of the new season.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Hourihane for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Matt Gilks (Scunthorpe United), Jack O'Connell (Sheffield United), Liam Cooper (Leeds United), Tom Miller (Carlisle United), Ricky Holmes (Charlton Athletic), Conor Hourihane (Aston Villa), Sean Longstaff (Blackpool), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Jack Marriott (Peterborough United), Devante Cole (Fleetwood Town), David Nugent (Derby County).

Manager - Michael Flynn (Newport County).
