Post Norwich Injury Update

Manager Steve Bruce has given an injury update following the game against Norwich City earlier today.

With Mile Jedinak returning to full training at the beginning of the week, amazingly Villa managed to win a game without his involvement as Bruce explained he just missed out as he didn't want to rush him with his return being so 'close'.

That obviously means he'll be assessed ahead of Tuesday evening's EFL Cup tie against Wigan Athletic or after that, Bristol City.

Tottenham loanee Josh Onomah was substituted on the half hour mark with a head injury and he'll be assessed over the coming 48 hours as is procedure.

Bruce also confirmed Gabby Agbonlahor missed out with a back injury and would also have to be assessed ahead of the Wigan game.

Speaking to the Official Site in his post game press conference, Bruce explained.

'Josh has a head injury. We don`t know the extent of that yet. That was disappointing. Mile was close. But he was sore yesterday. We have put a lot of work into him. We will see how he is in the week. Gabby had a twinge in his back.'

Hopefully Gabby won't back. Sorry, not being bitter, he wasn't missed at all. Sorry to see Josh go off, he was playing well.

I see Gabby hasdown tools for the season then.Twinge in his back my arse. Would anyone on this site seriously consider playing a game of football for Aston Villa is they had a twinge in their back. I would have walked over hot coals to make myself available. Mr Aston Villa my arse!

Tactically agree. Gabby bashing is a little unneeded. Nice to feel some football joy on a Saturday

Browne Villan I disagree with you about Flabby. Let's not forget what he was like the season we got relegated from the Premier. He was bloated and didn't give a **** about the team or us supporters. His time has gone and we should ship him out, but no one has come in for him. I wonder why? I hope SB sticks with yesterday's team and doesn't recall Flabby because he doesn't deserve any more chances and I think SB has finally realised what a lot of us were saying about Flabby being a liability. If he does recall him I believe there will be a lot of anger.

I will certainly be one of those angry fans south coast villan, you make good points. I just think its the manager who should know better

We've had a glimpse of what could be the future, so hopefully now SB won't be looking to the dim and distant past. He can keep his twinge for me, get his wages this season, then off he trots.

He might be handy as a sub against the filth.

The worrying thing Gabby would of played if it wasn't for his bad back, Bruce has to learnt from this, I wouldn't even have him on the bench !!!
