McCormack Linked With Sunderland

McCormack Linked With Sunderland

Over the weekend it was being reported that new Sunderland manager Simon Grayson had enquired about Ross McCormack's availability this summer.

The Chronicle were reporting that having signed Bury's James Vaughan earlier in the week, Grayson believes that Scottish international McCormack would be the perfect foil for him.

Thw two have history from their time at Leeds United, so Grayson knows him well.

Of course the hurdle would be finances, not only in terms of Villa preferring to recoup the £12million we paid for the 30 year old to Fulham but also his wages, and although Sunderland have sold well this summer with Jordan Pickford's fee sticking out, Grayson has a limited transfer and wage pot to pick from.

That of course would open up another potential loan option but we can't keep loaning players out for small but valuable loan fees when sales outright would be far better from our point of view.

At this stage it's only an enquiry though and manager Steve Bruce has given McCormack decent game time across our friendlies so far so he's not entirely out of his plans so we'll have to see if anything comes of this.

Why not offer BOGTF! They take McCormack & get Richards, Elphick & Gabby free!

Brilliant idea Les, but unfortunately nice things like that only happen in fairy tales.... sadly.

Can't see McCormack being happy at all with a place on the bench next season and only the odd 20-25 mins of playing time available to him, that's if he gets on ? The only time I can see him starting a game is if Kodjia & Hogan are injured ( and then i'd have very little faith in him as his head wont be right) i'd much rather prefer seeing Keinan Davis or Rushian Hepburn-Murphy come on everytime if im honest, as its about time these youngsters were given their chance and both have good talent. Personally, regarding McCormack's situation , I'd take anyone's money and run who offered it for him. lol Richards, Elphick and a few more can follow suit....any takers ?

Are any players going to be released ? Can't decide if we're going for promotion or a remake of Ben Hur ! How Bruce is going to pick his best side is beyond me & I suspect him too
