Mind Blowing Offer To Tempt Kodjia Sale

Mind Blowing Offer To Tempt Kodjia Sale

Manager Steve Bruce has said it would take a 'mind blowing' offer from a club before Aston Villa would even consider selling striker Jonathan Kodjia this coming summer.

With competition from a number of clubs last summer as we took the Ivory Coast international from Bristol City, Kodjia has certainly shown his worth so far this year with 15 goals to his name for us since his arrival, and speaking to the Birmingham Mail ahead of this weekend's action with Wigan Athletic, Bruce knew Kodjia continued to have his suitors and he knew there would certainly be speculation next summer if we did miss out on the Play Off promotion route, but Kodjia would need to attract a mental offer before we'd even consider a sale as he's looking for him to work a real partnership together with Scott Hogan given both of their strengths.

'None of us want to sell him. Why would we? If someone comes with cheque book and it`s mind-blowing then we will see what happens. But overall we don't want anyone going anywhere.'

15 goals in 29 appearances for us is certainly no bad return and when you factor in his lull period in front of the net prior to Bruce's appointment, the fact he's still adjusting - especially our January arrivals - you would hope there's more to come from him in terms of his overall game, but given what we know we should get from Hogan, if those two could get a more big man, little man partnership going we'll certainly get the benefits of that and should see signs of it clicking as the campaign comes to a close.

He's certainly got the goals in him and some have been a joy to watch. He's got to work on his all round game though, sometimes he could try the simple things like squaring the ball. Still agree, wouldn't like to see him sold though, we'd have been in more of a mess without those goals!
