Delph Crowned Player Of The Year

Midfielder and new England boy Fabian Delph has been named our official Player of the Year for 2014-15.

In the official 'of the Year' Awards poll, Delph notched up 51% of the votes to make our skipper the Player of the Year for the second consecutive season having lifted the Terrace Trophy back in 2013-14 as well.

Striker Christian Benteke came second with 20% of the votes, and in a season where he really stepped up to the plate, Ciaran Clark secured 18% to finish in third place.

Young Player of the Year was always going to go to Jack Grealish wasn't it.

He notched up 82% of the vote, with Jores Okore in second and Callum Robinson in third.

Goal of the Season will be announced on the big screens following the game against Burnley this weekend.

The nominations are:

Fabian Delph's FA Cup strike against Liverpool.
Carles Gil's curler against Bournemouth.
Christian Benteke's goal against Manchester United at Villa Park.

Our very own Vital Villa awards will be invented, collated and organised following the Burnley game.

Fair play, Delph deserved it based on signing the new deal alone...instant heroand always looks bright and inventive! But he was out injured for a while, i voted for Hutton! Felt most consistent even if the depths of despair under Lambert.

As good as Grealish has been over the last few weeks, I'd say Okore has contributed far more over the season.
