KEA Is Rejoining Feyenoord - Update

Manager Paul Lambert has today confirmed that midfielder Karim El-Ahmadi is going to rejoin Feyenoord this transfer window.

The Birmingham Mail carry the confirmation of the move from the gaffer, and it has been speculated at for the last week or so quite strongly really.

It's said that Villa expect a deal in the region of £750,000 to go through before the closure of the window on Monday, and it's not anticipated that there will be any problems in that happening.

Lambert said briefly on the rumours about the 29 year old, that it's expected he will put pen to paper on a three year deal with them, having moved to us from the same club back in 2012.

He has made 56 appearances for us across all competitions, and has scored three times, but it's fair to say he has struggled to really adapt to the league and show his best consistently on the pitch for us.

I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing him well for the future.

'El Ahmadi looks like he's going to sign for Feyenoord. It's a good chance for him to go and we wish him well. He's been great for me since he's been here.'

With the African Cup of Nations gearing back up again as well, it means a move for KEA doesn't leave us missing a player.

In incoming midfielder news, the Daily Mail are also carry quotes from Lambert where he admits that there has been no progress on our chase for Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley.

'There's no update on that at the minute to be honest. He's still Man Utd's player. There nothing went forward on that.'

Update -

The official site have now confirmed that he has signed a three year deal with Feyenoord.

He won't be missed at Villa. He worked hard but not quite good enough, hope he does well in the Netherlands.

I thought he was a very good player with a nice touch on the ball when he first arrived but it hasn't really worked out. Wish him all the best.

Supposedly homesick: good luck to him, he did nobody any harm while he was with us, just struggled with the pace at times.

Good luck to him. Let's hope that he gets back to his best. It would be nice to see him back at VP next season in the UEFA Cup. LOL :•)

I thought he was a decent player, and seemed to give his all, its just that his all wasn't up to Premier League standard. Wish him well at Feyenoord.
