Sylla No Thriller Loaned Out From The Villa

Aston Villa have confirmed that midfielder Yacouba Sylla is yet another of Lamberts signings who has been moved on.

This particular one is again a season long loan, he's going to Turkey to join Kayseri Erciyesspor as long as he can get international clearance.

Villa bought Sylla in January 2013 for around £2m.

The manager said at the time, 'Yacouba will add a bit of steel into the midfield which will help the other lads in there.'

Need I say more, another one of lamberts signing on his way out. Taxi for are Sylla
Villa always
I thought this happened weeks ago?
Stephen Jay Hawkings
There were links and talk of it Stephen, but now it's happened, or is happening if he gets clearance.
The Fear
The interesting thing about a number of Lambert's signings isn't that they arrived here as crap players or that they had no potential, it's that they went backwards or didn't progress. At times I was really impressed with Sylla, Lowton, Luna and Helenius. You could argue they've not progressed not necessarily due to lack of quality, but the lack of quality at managing them. I'd like to see all 4 of afore mentioned players given a run under a manager who knows how to play football as Lambert has demonstrated no matter who he players, he can't achieve this.
johnnyuk
Ah ok, I was wondering why it was only being reported everywhere today. Could someone tell me why we're loaning all these players out and not selling any? Surely we could sell Sylla, Luna and Helenius on the cheap, raise around £3m and buy one actual useful player?
Stephen Jay Hawkings
I would guess no permanent offers for them, they've not really shone have they? Bit of a mess really isn't it mate?!
The Fear
Johnnyuk, other than Ash and Milner ( who already showed their talents) and Benteke who has now gone back again, can't think of anyone who's got better at Villa for years. Cahill had to move on.
Villan444
Not sure who we'd get for £3mil either SJH?? We desperately need a centre mid general now as if we didn't before he went but it will cost £10+ mil.
Villan444
I know 444, but I'd rather have one half decent squad player for that, at least that would be some benefit to us, sending these players out on loan is just like sweeping them under the carpet and trying to forget about them. But as Fear said anyway, doubt anyone is interested in any of them on a permanent deal
Stephen Jay Hawkings
oh yeah, this is Lambert's fault all over again if a reserve left-back from Sevilla and a U21 from French Ligue 2 don't cut the mustard in the PL and we don't sell them for crazy money... that's probably his fault too if Vlaar missed his pen for Holland during the WC. I'm bored of the Villa moaners club, you are proving O'Leary's point, and it's hard to take.
delirium
We are being blessed with £10m according to the press 444, are us lot never satisfied!???!

All looks factual as above delirium, just stated he's gone on loan, he's a Lambert signing, that is the 3rd (?) on loan, a few sold already. Not sure it says fault, just says fact. And no, DOL wasn't right. Fans don't moan when their club and / or managers act as they should. They do when the manager or club make a total balls up of it. It isn't fickle, it's football. We aren't alone, blimey, there were teams way above us last season with fans moaning at not doing better.
The Fear
(that was a joke btw 444, I forgot lol or whatever!)
The Fear
My point is that it's well documented now that Lerner has wanted to leave the ship for a few years now and at least Lambert is loyal and probably doing his best for our club. He's made mistakes but he is not as stubborn as we'd have thought and realises some of his gambles didn't pay. Fans who make him the scapegoat of everything related to Villa is getting on my nerves. He's probably no saviour but he's the man in charge and the one trying to pull us out of this misery. Perhaps some prefered the McLe*** days, when we had a better squad and still couldn't deliver on the pitch.
delirium
I do actually think that a loan deal will be the best option as he and others is/are still young and at least we've got a squad/assets of sorts rather than having to search around next year, when we still haven't been sold, for bodies to play in the Championship. That £10 mil is probably complete rubbish put out by Lerner's PR dept. to try to stop us lot from rioting anyway Fear. I'll never be satisfied until we win the league mate. Guess I'll never be satisfied again in my lifetime then :-(
Villan444
Got to agree with delirium though. Where would we be if Lambert left?? Another poor sod would be trying to turn water into wine from the leftovers of 4 manager's squads rather than 3.
Villan444
Exactly 444. Also, Lambert may not have been the preferred option to some, but when you see Everton splashing over £25M on 1 player, you understand why Martinez (and perhaps others) never considered the job with Lerner in charge.
delirium
I don't think my article says Lambert out does it? Or have I missed something! He's been incompetent but we'll do better this year because he's realised his buys aren't good enough and we need some experience. I am told he's an avid reader of Vital Villa and yes, I am being tongue in cheek and having a laugh, there is feck all else to do as a Villa fan these days, club is a shambles, no matter whose fault it is. I can't get passed some of Lamberts decisions, comments, stats and think he's been incompetent, low money or not. That' bit isn't tongue in cheek, I have at least been consistent, said right at the start his policy was a disaster waiting to happen, luckily he's now caught up with what the rest of football already knew. Happy days!
The Fear
No, it's nothing to do with your article, Fear. My rant is about some of the comments and the never-ending Lambert bashing. IMHO, players not fulfilling their potential and therefore not being sold can't be due to Lambert alone. With the facilities at Bodymoor, everything is ready for young players to step up. They haven't, but, in my book, this is not down to the manager alone.
delirium
Again, as delirium says, it's the comments, not the article!! Same as the same comments on the Luna article when he was loaned. Something is definitely wrong in the whole club though. The players don't seem to have any confidence or if they do it's shattered by a schoolboy mistake from, well, one of the schoolboys in the team. Can't blame just the manager ( although time will tell if he's not right whichever circumstances he's under.) If the owner wants out and the CEO has done one already then no idea why others hang around?!?!?!?! I'd be off if I wasn't a fan and another offer came in. Lambert can't be doing his career any favours?!?!?! He must be earning a wedge compared to the squad and that's my only criticism unless he's hanging around to finish what he started and clear his name???
Villan444
"If it was not for Villa’s discovery of below-value talent like Christian Benteke and Ron Vlaar, one could very easily have seen the club relegated already."
Villan444
Would agree with the balance on transfers Benteke pretty much pays for the ones that didnt come off. Also agree that Lerner after being everything you want in an owner lost interest and is mainly to blame for the state we are in. Supported Lambert as long as I could he finally lost me end of last season appreciate he is working under difficult conditions with little money my problem is with the tactics bad as some of the players are we have no proper shape and can only play on the counter attack even at home. As for this seasons signings again I see a good one in Richardson and a couple of dodgy ones in Senderos & Cole . Do not want to be to hard on a manager who has shown loyalty but like most frustrated at the fare provided over the last few seasons.
Merlin128777
Yup, well done to McLeish's scout for getting Benteke onto the Villa radar. Top job done that man.
