'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boston 0-0 Villa U21s

Villa's youngsters were held to a scoreless draw in our second pre season friendly of the summer.

Having launched our warm up campaign with a four one victory over Boldmere St Michaels a few days ago, it was another good work out for Gordon Cowans' lads at The Jakemans Stadium, but this time we just couldn't put the finishing touch on our chances.

It was basically the same side as our last friendly, minus Jack Grealish and Tomas Zazrivic who were missing and we did start slowly with the first proper chance falling to our hosts, but as the game drew on we ot more into it and on top.

Chances fell to Michael Drennan, Callum Robinson and Daniel Johnson and then the game ebbed and flowed with each side having good spells and chances.

Another good run out though with fitness and match sharpness the priority at this stage, and Sid did use everyone, but this time round he gave most of the starters more than an hour, instead of rotating everybody at half time.

Boston:

Gledhill, Mills, Galinski, Piergianni, Steer, Felix, Hollingworth, Meadows, Greene, Garner, McGhee.

Subs:

Hall, Reynolds, Aujla, Southwell, Barlow, Sanders, Marshall, Smythe, Anton, Hodge, Djalo, Thompson, Vince.

Villa:

Hill (Watkins 45), Webb (Leggett 58), Kinsella, Cowans (O'Brien 71), Donacien, Toner (Lewis 45), Burke (Sellars 71), Calder (Wildin 71), Drennan (Nehemie 71), Johnson (Graham 71), Robinson (T Strain 71).
