Football Expert Says Villa WILL Sell...
The Birmingham Mail have some quotes from a footballing finance expert, Peter Knowles.
He says he is sure that Villa will sell because 'it is a big Premier League club, with great tradition in a premier city`.
So that`s nice!
I concur, surely at some point? Villa have heritage, history and a massive potential. Massive. No one has tapped into it, but it is there and we are known, albeit less as each year goes by, around the world (the Italian coach recently said he supports Villa and how well known the Club is in Italy, see forum thread and quotes: Click Here )
He goes on (this is the financial expert before I so rudely interrupted him) to say that any sale could take up to three months to complete.
Adding, "Randy Lerner has grown increasingly frustrated at the club, but I don`t think announcing the club was up for sale before a buyer was in place has helped the process. Merrill Lynch should have been instructed well before that announcement was made, but they are very good and I am confident they will find a buyer. A sale won`t happen overnight, but I don`t expect it to drag on forever either."
Looks like two billionaires require two reporters! Both Alan Nixon and Neil Moxley in www.mirror.co.uk say that Josh Harris and David Blitzer are in talks. I think they have been named before, they certainly have a wee bit of money between them and have a track record of resurrecting companies who, as the report says, are 'distressed`.
The report says Mega-rich Harris and Blitzer recently bought ice hockey and basketball franchises, and have now turned their attention to the Premier League.
Apparently they are central figures in the Global Management investment company, have been using leading figures at top clubs for advice about a purchase.
The report also links Ron Vlaar to QPR ... meh...!
