Villa Interested In Amalfitano?

It's being reported today that Aston Villa have joined the race to sign midfielder Morgan Amalfitano.

The 29 year old had a reasonably impressive game on loan last season at West Bromwich Albion, but with their managerial issues, the club missed the deadline to turn the deal into a permanent move - if they were interested that is - and it's now being suggested that following his performances for them in their own relegation threatened season, Villa have joined Crystal Palace and Sunderland in expressing an interest in the Marseille man.

It's said he would be available for around £2.5million.

During his spell at our near neighbours in 2013-14, Amalfitano played in 30 matches for the club, with 26 starts in the league, scoring four times.

Many fans may remember his opening goal in the game last September against Manchester United at Old Trafford, that helped them to victory.

As ever, there are no quotes accompanying these reports, so we'll have to see.

Ince to QPR, Landan tw@! Think we should rescue Sinclair from them to be honest. Still has potential, plus we get to Helen Flanaboobies at VP.

I actually remember this guy from watching a few games and he stoodout. I'd be ok with us signing him. Looked a talented player with a bit of grit, and there was something about him - he definitely didn't just look like a journeyman.

Yeah I'd take him, I too remember a few standout moments from him last season, wondering why WBA had a player like him and we had nothing but rubbish!

News breaking that Albion are about to sign Lescott. Question is, if Albion can sign him, why can't Aston Villa? Pretty cross about this one to be honest. I think Lescott would have been great for us at the back.
