U21s Looking To Go Out In Style

Aston Villa's under 21 side play their final game of 2013-14 later today when we face off against Manchester City.

We have travelled to the Etihad Stadium for the season finale, which kicks off at 12pm and live coverage is on the official site on the usual channels, but sadly no live coverage unless I've missed it.

It's been a mixed bag of a season for our U21s, we sit in 13th place in the league, but will move up to 12th should we win, but it's difficult to read too much into a more struggle-some season for Gordon Cowans' lads as we have had plenty of promotions from the U18 side this season and of course key players at that level, such as Jack Grealish and Michael Drennan, are currently out on loan and we've also seen Graham Burke and Benjamin Siegrist spend time away from the club as well during the season.

Those who have stepped up though haven't done themselves any harm really, Callum Robinson is the latest one to get a first team shot obviously, but there have been some good performances that have put a few others players into mind for next season if they can continue their development and take the plaudits as they have this season, so it's far from doom and gloom but it would be good if we could end on a high now and with a win, just to round off the campaign.
