'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre West Ham Injury News For Villa

It's been revealed that defender Ron Vlaar remains a doubt for Saturday's clash against West Ham, but news is a little brighter for Gabby Agbonlahor.

Gabby injured his foot after attacking an advertising board in the draw against Liverpool, whereas Ron Vlaar 'felt' (he should really leave it alone) his hamstring in the game against Everton.

Vlaar will undergo a late fitness test tomorrow to judge whether or not he will play any part in the game, but manager Paul Lambert remains far more confident about Gabby.

'Ron is a doubt. Gabby looks pretty good at the minute and everybody else is fine.'

Lambert goes on to say that should Vlaar not make it then we've got Nathan Baker and Ciaran Clark, and it's a chance for somebody else to stake their claim.

He also confirms that Chris Herd is now back in training following the hamstring injury that has kept him out - well since the last time the Official Site mentioned him, and Joe Bennett has obviously has continued training having played in our last U21 game against Reading.

Be a lot happier with Roncrete on the pitch, but we'll be so busy scoring we probably won't need him : )

Certainly miss Roncrete when he's out. Hope he makes it for the West Sham game.
