Strange poll results at Vital Norwich where 81% of fans were happy for him to be sold but 41% said not to Villa. Wonder if we could offer them Paul Lambert back and make peace?!

Paul Lambert was not an attacking midfielder.
81% of Norwich fans want him gone - just shows how crap he is. He is a Championship player now and past his best(Pretty much the same as Holt). We need the type of signings in the same calibre of Bertrand if we want to go to the next level.

It just goes to show we know more about who and what we need than Lamberk does.....
Pride of Lions
lambert knows what he wants, but no 10s are very expensive, simple as that, and expensive is not in lerners vocabulary anymore.

If he comes and wears our shirt then I'll welcome him to our family, the internet experts and football manager experts on here (most of who don't visit Villa Park) will probably scowl, he's a proven player and has good experience and quality. If you want Mata or Navas go glory hunt in your plastic dreams. UTV VTID
ScunthorpeMilan why can't we have Mata and navas, you go and support Scunthorpe if you aint a glory hunter. We have an idiot of an owner.
Ali Arab
Yes we need experience, but a nothing player from a nothing team?!
astonmilan - 27 years a season ticket holder 45 years a fan...We've got kids like Marl Albrighton that have as much premiership experience as Holt and Hoolahan..Proven player? when was than then please explain because your the expert according to you. Who mentioned Matta please also point that person out Mr expert? What us none experts like yourself want is quality not old ex Norwich Championship players. Holt 95% of his football played in the lower leagues & Hoolahan adds the league of Ireland & Blackpool to his amazing CV..But what would i know I'm not YOU!!!
I'm with Ali, get a decent owner and we can stop shopping at poundland. Let's all say no to mediocrity! And a mate of mine who's a Norwich fan says they'd have lamberk back like a shot - trouble is, they want a straight swap for hughton!
A fraud and a liar.
It's the only real sort of player we can aim for due to a chairman who thinks he can buy turds and they can be polished into gold! Yes he got burnt under o'neil, his fault for not doing his repurchase on the value etc of these x players but to punish us the way he is ,well that's a man who is no better than all the other get rich quick bankrupt the clubs chairmen all clubs now have! Yes the wage has come down and we now have a fuller squad than what we had a couple of years back but the constant fight off of relagation and how we are now seen by others,as a historic club with now no point ito it is draining! We all blame lambert but who else could do what he has or want to? Martinez only went to Everton as they were a top 8 club, turned us down as it was from one sinking ship to another with a faceless gutless owner rather than the fat controller! A few days left of the transfer window, will we be shocked by a top ,shock signing? Holding my breath but it's getting dizzy!

Agreed brisbane lion.
Thank god I am an old fan my allegiance has lasted to long and to far,to be under any threat from anything Lerner or Lambert may do. I fear and feel for the younger fans who have not had the delight of seeing Villa compete at the highest level. To see us scratching round the transfer market like paupers at the moment is hard to watch and brings back memories of the last time we were like this just before our tumble down to the old third division tough times, wish I could convince the younger fans that the futures bright or at least they will see us rise again it will happen just hope I am still around when it does.
Unless a billionaire buys us, top half & an occasional final are all we can hope for . To be honest I'd be reasonably happy with that as long as we play decent football ,especially at home . Others can do it on as small budgets, so why cant we . Easy to blame it on Lambeth, but we've played dismal football on the whole for the last 6 or 7 seasons
Every team wants a player like this other than Chelsea and Arsenal who have loads. We must know what Lerner is planning. We may as well be run by Joe Bloggs if he's not going to utilise his wealth. Time to get some investment from somewhere at least if he really cares about the club and all the fans that come with it, not just money!!!!
I hear on the gossip rags that Fulham are looking at loaning Sergio Canales with an option to buy for 4 million - if that is true, that is exactly what Villa need and should be looking at. Creative attacking mid, 22 yrs old, apparently his wages are less than 20k a week (altho who really knows!), real promise. If he flops then you don't take the option to buy. If he flys, then it is a real bargain for the price tag and he becomes a Villa mainstay or is sold for a very healthy profit. That is the kind of player I think that the fans would hope that Villa would target - ambitious, but potentially financially achievable and likely not financially excessive. Hoolahan is fine, but really?
