Grealish Set For County Return?

Having had a successful loan spell with Notts County earlier in the season, and all parties willing to extend it other than Villa it seemed, Jack may be on his way back.

As things played out, Villa had a number of enquiries for the young talent, so brought him back to the club instead of just automatically extending his spell, so they could talk properly in person about those offers from the Championship for him.

Despite having already said himself a deal had been struck, given that County had no interim game, Jack realised coming back also gave him the opportunity to play in the U18 game last night and get another semi competitive match under his belt.

All along, Grealish has maintained that even if there was other interest in him, he felt he was best placed to develop at Meadow Lane because he was really enjoying himself there and getting the game time he was, their new manager Shaun Derry clearly believes in him and gives him confidence.

Last night in the FA Youth Cup defeat to Liverpool, on the whole he put in a very bright performance and showed his talent nicely as he has been doing in League One of late, but he's admitted himself he wasn't pleased with his overall contribution but it's another 90 minutes for him and he'll learn from it.

Speaking to the Nottingham Post, County's assistant manager Greg Abbott explained.

'Nothing is ever 100% until the player is through the door, but at this moment in time, the talks with Jack's dad have gone very well and I'm hoping he will be preparing with us for Stevenage. Jack wanted to play in Villa's FA Youth cup game at Liverpool because it was a big game for them which was certainly understandable. But he is very popular here, and it would be great to have him back with us because there is no doubt he is a big talent.'

Simply put, he's not in Lambert's plans and he's doing well at County, so get him back there.

Is Jacks dad also his agent? Hope so as I'm sure I read somewhere he's a big villa fan, all we need now is for a villa-supporting agent to look after Benteke and we'll be sorted!
