Agent Confirms Villa Interest In Porto Midfielder

Agent Confirms Villa Interest In Porto Midfielder

Another transfer snippet. Papers have picked up on Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones but we covered that yesterday, see: AVFC Transfer Talk - One In - Loanee Out?

But also FC Porto's midfielder Steven Defour is apparently of interest to Villa according to his... yeah yeah, I know... agent.

The player's agent Paul Stefani is quoted on www.insidefutbol.com 'Aston Villa have indeed indicated that they are interested in Defour, but it is not really concrete yet. There are also more teams that I cannot name. Unfortunately, in this period so much is said. You shouldn't expect news before 10th January. A lot of people who are involved in this business, after all, are still on holiday until that date.'

So there you have it!

He also mentions that he'd prefer to go to the Bundesliga, would be great if we could pull it off though.

Not going to happen. How many times in the past couple of years have 'agents' said we are interested then it gets wiped. Not even going to think of it.

Maybe we should go buy Maguire and Collins from Sheffeild Utd,after watching them, they certainly good enough to keep us quiet and wouldn't cost fortune ?,or Pontus Jansen(Swedish like melberg),John Guidetti(Swedish striker),Popov and Slavchev and Hoolahan ?
