Trio Extend Loans Until February

Two goalkeepers and a left back have extended their loan spells away from the club until February 2014.

First up we have Shay Given who moved to Middlesbrough in November. Since being with the club he has made seven appearances and has now extended is spell with them until February 28th.

He is not eligible for their FA Cup match.

Next up is fellow goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.

He also moved to Burton Albion in November as back up following injuries and the Swiss U21 international has unfortunately been an unused substitute so far, so hopefully during his extension he'll get his debut and a few matches under his belt.

He remains with them until February 2nd, and their boss Gary Rowett explained that they've been delighted with his training ethic and attitude and in many ways he can consider himself unfortunate to not have figured so far, but their No 1 Dean Lyness has been in very good form and their results have been good but they are clearly aware of the potential he has, and they hope he's taken a lot from working alongside Kevin Poole and their coaching staff.

'He is there waiting for his chance should it come his way and he will be able to show us all what we know he can do. At the moment he's keeping Dean on his toes and that's why we've extended it for another month.'

Finally, left back Enda Stevens has also extended his loan spell with Doncaster Rovers until February 1st.

Having, like the other two, made the move away in November he has gone on to make six appearances for the club.

Hopefully all three will continue to get or gain minutes under their belts over the New Year spell.

Should of forced Middlesbrough to buy Given or refuse to extend. They are desperately short of keepers and are happy with his performance. Come Feb when they get their 2 keepers back we are then back to where we were with his contract back on the books and a frustrated player.

Yes seems strange they didn't try to offload him permanently in January unless the loan deal is that he can be recalled if we find a buyer.

I don't remember Stevens doing much wrong when he got a chance. I'd have him over Luna and Bennett right now
