Benteke A Doubt For Palace?

Manager Paul Lambert has said that Christian Benteke missed today's game with Stoke owing to a knee problem, and he feels it's unlikely he will be fit in time for the Crystal Palace match.

It's the latest in a series of injury niggles for the striker this season, but of course it will fuel speculation about January won't it folks.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, the gaffer explained the injury to Benteke and discussed the upcoming Palace match.

'We will see how things go, but it's unlikely. It's his knee giving him a little bit of concern. I don't think it's long term, but he's carrying one or two things that we need to sort out. Hopefully it's not too long before he's back.'

Lambert goes on to say that you can't keep throwing players onto the pitch when they aren't right, and you have to manage their welfare and that's what we are now doing and he felt Benteke would benefit from a spell out resting instead of trying to play through it.

Moving forward Lambert goes on to praise Kozak for the part he played in the game, and obviously the goal that got us back into it and he's looking forward to him playing an even bigger role in future games.

Of course, we will also have Gabby Agbonlahor back now he has served his suspension.

The way he has been playing it's hardly going to be a great miss, 2nd season syndrome, like so many!

No problem, Kojak is chipping in with the odd goal here and there.

It's okay, as long as a Palace defender pass it to Kozak 2 yards out we will get a goal...

Cb20 looks to be going, can't see him in c&b again. And after the last few weeks his price probably back down in the twenties.
