'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Villa Times - 10/12/2013

Unoial Villa News...

Wadey: The 23% solution...I don't know about Sherlock Holmes but it was a bit of an unsolved mystery this week, as to how a team which enjoyed only 23% of possession can score three goals and take all the points, as Villa did in their midweek clash with the high-flying Saints. This and the fact that transport was thrown in for free, for the away supporters, made it a jam-filled doughnut of a night for the two-thousand who made the trip. See: Something For The Weekend (444)

Lambert backs Gabby to go on a run... Not literally a run, we all know he can do that, the gaffer is talking about a scoring run! Quite shocked at this really as I hadn't realised, but apparently Gabby's goal against Southampton was his first in seven months. It'll be easier waiting for comments here to confirm it rather than going and actually checking, but surely that is league form only and not Cup. See: Lambert Backs Gabby To Go On A Run

FA Cup draw... it`s home v: Click Here

You can make your own mind up about that game really! The penalty against was a bit harsh but you do see them given. Then Gabby should have had a pen in the second half. However, we hardly made any chances etc etc etc... You saw it, as said, you can decide! Paul Lambert said: Lamberts Post Fulham Match Reaction

Villa_Grizzly: Pre-Match: Being a football supporter opens up all sorts of conversations. We are on the 09:55 Chiltern Clubman to Marylebone, chatting to a Luton Town supporter, drinking bucks fizz. He and his good lady are off to Covent Garden to celebrate her birthday but talk soon switches to football and the woes of his beloved Hatters - the leagues most 'persecuted' club. It reminds me that things could be worse. Throw in a point deduction here and there and you never know, we could be playing in someone's back garden as well. He does seem quite positive about the Villa though. Indeed, by the time we pass Bicester North he has us down for an easy 2-0 win. Fulham are dreadful, he tells us. The mood becomes so positive I start to feel slightly anxious. Villa are not a team who win going forward; they are a team that win from the back-foot -and we certainly don't do positivity. Manager Paul Lambert has remained pretty philosophical following our defeat to Fulham, especially as Fabian Delph will now miss out next match through suspension. See: Lambert Philosophical Following Defeat
