'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lamberts Post Fulham Match Reaction

You can make your own mind up about that game really! The penalty against was a bit harsh but you do see them given. Then Gabby should have had a pen in the second half. However, we hardly made any chances etc etc etc... You saw it, as said, you can decide!

Paul Lambert has pointed at the penalty decisions but also admitted we didn`t play as well as we have been.... (?!)

'But I still think some the decisions out there went against us. In terms of penalty decisions, I thought the Fulham one wasn't and ours was. That's me being honest.

He says Gabby`s second half incident was a 'stonewaller` which might have given us a chance to push on for a draw.

"We lost three to injury. But that's football and I don't want to make that as an excuse.I couldn't fault the lads for the way they tried to get themselves back into it. But I don't think we got going. I can't fault the lads though because the effort was there."

He says we`ll have to pick ourselves up and start again ... next up Man Utd.

He does admit 'But as a team, we were short. We never got going.'

Hey ho, these things happen, fingers crossed we continue Man Utd`s bad run at the weekend. Then we visit Stoke and have Christmas games v Crystal Palace and Swansea. All to play for.

Very poor I thought. Benteke still a shadow of last season. Two decent chances that probably would have gone in last season. Missed Vlaar composure although I thought Chris Herd did well. Thought ref definitely got both decisions wrong, but we didn't play well enough to deserve anything. Dare I say it? Lacking experience in midfield ?
What is worrying is the fact that every team we play, plays better football then us, we always running round like headless chickens. Kicking the ball up field in hope is no strategy. I think ling term we are in trouble, if this midfield don't get sorted.

Crap x 1 billion to the power of 1 billion.
I knew Fulham would want it more today unfortunately!..our unbeaten run was never gonna carry on that long!..
Rubbish performance throughout. The two penalty decisions were embarrassing for the ref but they don't hide the poor performance. Bacuna cannot pay right back any longer, he's constantly out of position and is making too many mistakes, Lowton has to come back in. Vlaar and Luna are massive misses for us - Baker isn't an LB so we lose that attacking option down that side, plus he's out of position a lot. Plus Herd isn't good enough as a CB, and we have no leadership in their without Vlaar. Our midfield were bullied, we need some steel in there.. Sidwell and Parker are no better than Westwood and Delph, but they were simply stronger. The 4-3-1-2 formation with Weimann in behind Gabby and Benteke doesn't work for me… Weimann is no where near good enough to play that role, plus without him and Gabby in the wings in the 4-3-3 formation, we miss out defensively and leave too much space out wide for the opposition. Need to move on very quickly from this - Utd will want to get away from Old Trafford and coming Villa Park is perfect for them as it's basically their second home with the amount of times they beat us. Hopefull Vlaar and Luna are back from injury, and Lowton comes back into the team. Move on and go again for next week.
Defence is Sunday league I'm afraid, no marking no composure it's panic last ditch and hoof - straight back to opposition. We clearly miss Vlaar and Okore but even so we should be better. That in turn puts pressure on the midfield who we all know work hard but it's so obvious we are missing a calm head to put a foot on and control a game. Up front isn't much cop either, Gabby's trying at least but Tekkers play and body language is poor and Weimann is a shadow now he's got his new contract. Positives - not much but I have always really liked Chrissie Herds attitude and endeavour, if we 11 like that we would be so much harder to beat.
Lambert has a lot to answer for IMHO. This is basically his team and it is dire. Please go back to Norwich!

A midfield of 3 isn't enough against a midfield of 5 no matter how hard they work. It's as simple as that really. You would have thought a manager would be able to clock that one though ...
Lambert your not good enough, making out we have not played as good as we have??? indeed what is this bloke on about? We have been playing long ball all season sitting back defensively whilst the other teams actually play football, sorry but this bloke is not good enough to take us anywhere all this after having £40million to spend and 17 months in charge. Has Mcleish actually left?
Dont get on the managers back its not his fault (that hes rubbish) etc etc yawn yawn
I like PL but I'm getting over his post match comments. We can play good bad or anywhere in between and all we ever hear is a can't fault their effort. Seriously I can't fault a dam lot from that game, utter tripe.

CAN FAULT! stupid phone
Disapointed that we can turn up on the coach and leave the fighting spirit and commitment on it while we play the game. Losing if the team has given 100% is tolerable, even to be admired, losing when the team give 50% is hard to swallow. Sort your heads and attitude out lad, because there's lots of games over the Christmas period!
Woefull like I said after the Southampton game will be so relieved when we reach 40 pts. Dread to think of the score when we play an out of form Man. Utd. if we turn up with this attitude and formation, they will look like champions again.
Never got going , that certainly isn't acceptable and thats Lamberts job to get them going every time they put a claret and blue shirt on and represent our great club… sort it out PL !
