Mystic v Lawro Not So Positive v Saints

A mid week schedule means more Lawro v Mystic Mug! Just how lucky are you people!?!

Both were wrong at the weekend, they both predicted a Villa win. Twerps, didn`t they realise this was at home!

Lawro has predicted 2-1 to Southampton on www.bbc.co.uk

He says the Saints deserved something from both the Arsenal and Chelsea games and then goes on about their system and how good a season they are having.

And on Villa?

All he adds is; "Do you think Aston Villa will go and play two up front on Wednesday and try to give them the same problems? I would say probably not. I don't think that is in their remit."

He says 2-1 to Saints

Mystic Mug has given up on the optimism, he says 2-0 to the Saints and makes no apologies for saying so! He`s tried his best but given up!!!!

I'd take a draw on the road v Saints. A win would be delicious though!

2-1 Villa. Late Westwood wonder goal stuns Saints.

Willing to bet we ll park the caravan. CB20 on his Sweeney up front or on the bench for all or some of the game. Nosferatu to sneak a snidey late goal if we're fortunate. Beginning to think the "project" aims to reach virtual safety by March on the sole basis of goals conceded, so that the "experimentation" can begin - sort of an early start to pre-season if you will.

I'm probably on my own here, but I think that as saints play such a high defensive line, we might be able to use our pace on the counter- Gabby in particular should be well suited to this as he can outpace anyone... And as they play so high up the field, we might b able to exploit that space!
thorpyuk
I'd love a win, but i'd also love to not be battered there again

Remains to be seen how Saints line up. Baggies' formation appeared as if they were on the road rather than at home and sat back, at least to begin with. The formation we ended that game with might be the best bet ie four or even five across the middle but my money says we wont start out that way :)

We will see what lambert is made of as we failed to score against the bottom team at the weekend but the main ingredient is how Benteke is in both games.
Villan444
I'm quite optimistic, only 2-0 to the Saints.......

I agree with thorpyuk..why can't we go there and get something tommorow!..we went to the league leaders and won FFs..I'm goin 2-3 villa!goals galore.
Aspinvilla83
We are better away from home and I fancy our chances, we won't lose put it that way. Head says 2-2, hearts says Villa 3-2

Thorpyuk is right… Southampton's high pressure game could well suit us tonight. Ball up to Benteke - providing he plays well - he can hold the ball up and with the pace of Gabby and maybe Weimann or Tonev, we can really hit them on the break. They're a very good side and picking up anything will be a great result in my opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if we nicked it on the counter, providing Benteke and Gabby remember how to find the net! Having said that, I'm not expecting us to get anything in all honesty.
