AVTV Should Be Screening Luton

If AVTV have managed to work out the gremlins, they will showing our pre season friendly against Luton live from 7.30pm tonight.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and the usual text and audio commentary will also be available.

It's still early in the campaign given Christian Benteke's relative fitness to the rest of the team, but he hasn't been ruled out from making an appearance tonight yet - although you'd think Crewe was maybe more likely.

1-0 down again lol, anyone else concerned based on our pre-season?

It could be better but i wouldn't be too concerned the team combination is different every time. Need to stop leaking the goals but once a solid defense is in place it should get better. We have, Webb, Donacien, Baker and Herd in defense at the minute so not exactly our 'strongest'. However they do look good prospects for sure!

Finished 2-0, not good enough. Cue all the Lambert apologists saying its fitness, game time etc etc – this is Luton and in a couple of weeks we’re playing Arsenal. Nearly went down tonight, so glad I didn’t. Glimpses but still crap at the back – especially Clarke. Sylla was out thought and out played in midfield – scary times ahead.

I never get bothered re pre season, would have been nice to win them all but as said, just never can get panicked OR if we win excited, I do think it is fitness etc. that said, winning is a habit, one it would be nice for us to pick up. Maybe this will persuade them back into the transfer market / bit of quality to supplement? Hope so, if not.....
The Fear
In 2012 we won 4 drew 2 and lost just 1 pre season game. Extrapolating people's concerns about this pre season that would mean that we should have had a pretty darn good season. It really wasn't was it.

I understand why people are worried but unless they think we have got worse as a team than last season then I think the only sensible conclusion is that pre season results really do mean nothing.
