Aston Villa Transfer Talk - Two Strikers Outward?

Aston Villa Transfer Talk - Two Strikers Outward?

ClickLancashire say that Blackpool would like Nathan Delfouneso who spent time on loan with them last season back.

They also link the 22-year-old striker, who appears surplus to requirements at Villa, to Wigan and Wolves.

The People say that Middlesbrough would like Stephen Ireland on a season long loan. He`s also been linked again to his old boss Mark Hughes at Stoke and also linked to Everton.

More reports that I can`t even begin to be bothered to link to linking Christian Benteke to Spurs. The one said they might come back in for him late in the transfer window to secure his services. I can`t understand the reporters logic in that, no way could we allow him to leave late in the window as we`d not then be able to source a replacement!

Benteke forum thread: Click Here

Oh he is also being linked to Chelsea which if I`m honest, is a far more likely destination as Chelsea have the mad money to spend on him and Mourinho will have noticed Benteke could well be the 'next` Drogba.

Reports are now saying that Villa would accept £5million for Darren Bent who is currently in the Villa wilderness having not been taken to the pre-season tour of Germany (which makes sense if he isn`t in the plans for next season...)

All a bit boring at the moment isn`t it?!

Benteke moving to Chelsea would be hard to see but understandable tbh witht he money they will spend and throw at him, Spurs are a team that with Benteke in there ranks could push up and challange for the title imo with a couple more signings but we all hope he stays he should be offered 110k week to stay minimum imo we need star players to build around but if we keep offering peanuts this will just hold us back and put us back to square one when we have to keep rebuilding every year or two imo

Chelsea have Lukaku ........ ?? just as good and three years younger. Spurs won't pay the £30m and Lambert isn't to be underestimated regarding transfers and dealings, if he says £30m silly money and start talking that's what he means. UTV

The sad thing is it looks like he will go, he has made no statment of late to say he wants to stay. Assuming he is going then let it be sooner rather than later no point having a player around who wants to be someplace else. I would love him to say one way or the other so PL can get on with things. One would have to ask again why contrcts only work when the player will not leave, Bent, Given, Ireland anf Hutton. COTVABU

Lukaku and £15m anyone? As for us paying him £110k+ a week. Forget, will never happen and so it shouldn't. Way beyond what we can afford for a single player and too much for CB. Yes he scored some great goals but at the moment he is still about potential not a guaranteed success year on year. Norwich had few problems with him and Chelsea just played his emotions. Not the end product yet.

I'll personally drive Ireland anywhere in the UK to get him away from B6. Same goes for Hutton. They would be VERY quiet journeys! Benteke is under contract so unless an offer comes in for the required amount then he's here for at least another season whether he likes it or not. Will be sorry to see Bent go as I don't think he's had a fair crack of the whip, but reality is, his style of play does not suit that which PL is trying to develop so he is a very expensive luxury. Nathan has had a fair number of chances but has never really cut the mustard.

Rent is a good player except he is on bail for an alleged sex offence hence why I think nobody has looked to sign him as if found guilty he could end up with a long spell in prison.
