Okore Backed To Shine
Jores Okore has already been told by Liverpool's Daniel Agger that he has the skill set for the Premiership, and the 20 year old is determined to show he has just that.
Speaking to the Official Site Okore said that former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly was an idol of his as he was growing up and whilst Okore talks about having as big an impact in the Premiership as Desailly did, he also revealed that compatriot Daniel Agger believes he's well placed to achieve just that in time:
'I have talked to him a little bit about the Premier League and how tough it is to play but he thinks I've got the skill set for making it in this league. I do to, so that is the only thing on my mind. I'm really looking forward to getting this going and getting the fans to see me.'
By now, all fans have seen or heard referenced the fact that Okore turned down a move to Chelsea because he was concerned at how it would impact his playing time and his development, and I think everybody is on the same page in terms of his level headedness and attitude to his career.
It makes for a wonderful and refreshing change.
The quote that keeps being repeated from his 'arrival' is the line 'I feel that I have arrived at a club that believes in me' and with his own International ambitions that he's talked about, that to me speaks volumes to how Paul Lambert sold the club, his project and his hopes for our future and there must be some real belief there despite the season we endured.
We all hope that comes to pass next season and whilst we allow these new lads time to bed in, adjust to the country and the league, let's all hope we see some tangible progression on the pitch and at least level out mid table this season and stay away from the bum squeaking end of the league as quite frankly, we've had enough of that over the past few years haven't we.
