McAndrew Proud Of U19s

McAndrew Proud Of U19s

Tony McAndrew has declared himself proud of the lads after the stuffed Lisbon 3-1 following extra time yesterday.

Speaking to the Official Site after watching Villa put themselves through to the Final of the NextGen Series, the coach said:

'I couldn't be prouder at this moment. I thought they were very mature and the level of effort was tremendous and some of the skill for the goals was just fantastic. When they got the equaliser you wondered if we would cave in and it was a possibility with us having so many young boys out there. But they stuck at it and they put their heads in the way, they put their bodies in the way and gradually got back into the game. I think in the end we deservedly won.'

McAndrew picked out special praise for Jack Grealish for his impact on the game as became more and more of a problem for them as the game dragged on.
