Ouch. Andreas Weimann Linked To Internazionale
Ok, first off this IS agent talk.
Secondly, if this is true, not sure a long term contract by Villa would make that much difference anyway.
And onto the story... be prepared to frown!
Football Italia are reporting that there might be interest in Andreas Weimann from Inter Milan (or Internazionale Milano as they are really called)
His agent, Robert Groener says of the 21-year-old Austrian striker,
"At the moment there is nothing concrete, as I haven`t had contact with Marco Branca or any of the other Inter directors," adding, "His contract with Villa expires in 2014, so if they do not renew then he could be sold over the summer."
"Playing in Serie A? It would be an honour for Weimann to wear the jersey of an historic and prestigious club like Inter. However, as I said, so far there is nothing concrete."
Sounds like an agent reminding his players club that he will want want he wants and to get a move on?
We cannot bring through and then let go these sort of players. If we did, then we might as well stop waving the Villa flags and put up white ones instead.
I fully hope and expect he`ll get the right contract and be with Villa for a few more years to come.

Hopefully agent talk to put pressure on the £ for wages. Remember NRC was linked with many Italian giants by his agent. Only problem is, Weimann is actually a good player!

Same old same old , a Villa player catches the eye has some great games and is immediately rumoured to be linked with everyone, it will be Guzan next !!! and we've yet to hear from Liverpool as to who they are looking at from B6. Fear you are so right if we continue to let the our best walk out the door we might as well wave the white flags.

It is *********, just agent posturing. Pick a big foreign club out of the hat and name them as interested. The deal will be done, he will sign a new 4 year deal within 2 weeks, or so I was told tonight at the youth game.

They are called FC Internazionale ..... there is no Milan in there name. Milan fans get pretty riled about the English calling them 'Inter Milan' they are known as Inter in the homeland ....... There is love in Weimann's heart for Villa though. Utter tosh journalism again. UTV

With all due respect to young Andreas, he'd only be warming the bench 95% of the time. But like others, I feel it's a wake up call to Lerner and his puppet.

Would not be to quick to blame his agent he is playing it down on bbc gossip more like newspapers looking for a story. Have the London press decided where Bentke is going yet ?

He's on 15k per week which is peanuts for someone who's represented their country!! Treble his wages or why don't we do what the scousers have done with Suarez and give them incentive based increases?? Remember Vassell turning up for England duty and only on 3k per week, (by far the lowest wage at the camp ) and getting ripped by the other players. Randy went the other way by giving the very average likes of Bencht too much money for his one defunct talent. There must be a middle ground FFS.
