Villa On Course For Acorns Target

Villa have announced that they are well on course to hit the Acorns target of £50,000 with money raised on and around our annual Acorns Day.

Following proceeds from the Villa News and Record (£4 with £1 being donated), the raffle tickets for numerous prizes, including a Fiat 500, the activities in the Indoor Academy and the already running Ebay auctions, money has been flowing in for the cause.

Add to that Villa Park staff having their own raffles, cake sales and dressing down days, along with our marketing and communication teams auctioning their services for a day to clients, Match Sponsors Beaver Metals donating £50 for every goal on the day (that explains why we gave them two!) and now running shirt auctions from the game Acorns should be in for a welcome return.

There was also the text donations ACFC12 £3 to 70070 to factor in, and text donations can still be made for those wishing to give a little extra.

Paul Faulkner said of the day and the efforts by all to raise these much needed funds:

'We'd like to thank all of our fans, players and staff for making our second Acorns Day even more memorable than the first. It was a thrilling game and a fantastic result as we won for the second successive year on Acorns Day and I am immensely proud of all of the fundraising efforts that have been undertaken to raise money for this wonderful charity.'

Faulkner adds that the full total will be known early next week once the match day shirt auctions close, but he believes that we are on target to reach the £50,000 aim and quite possibly beat it this year.
