No surprise that a lot of the talk surrounds Andreas Weimann.
He, along with Brad Guzan are in Garth Crooks team of the week on www.bbc.co.uk/sport.
And Paul Lambert has questioned whether Andi has an extra lung, he runs around so much!
He said on www.avfc.co.uk that the players work rate is 'phenomenal`.
'If he keeps that enthusiasm and that hunger and desire to play a game of football he will have a big, big career. He is a phenomenal player to work with. He is a great lad. His enthusiasm for the game? If he can keep that throughout his career, he will have one big career for sure."
He adds that he was happy to give him a chance, as he was always in and out of the teams before, which to be fair, at his age, was right. But says that since he`s had a regular spot, he has been 'playing exceptionally well."
Lambert also admits that although he realises the players favoured spot is in the centre, he gives everything he has wherever he is put.
On his QPR performance, "Andi showed that with his work for the third goal - he never gave it up. That's Andi all over. That's his character. The goal he scored himself was brilliant. It was a fantastic finish. It was a brilliant goal.'
On Espn Lambert added that wherever he is put, he scores!
'I know his natural position is probably through the middle but that's difficult with the way Christian Benteke and Gabby Agbonlahor are performing. But, whether or not he has to play off the line, he seems to score goals."
Mat Kendick also has an article in the Birmingham Mail with quotes from Vlaar.
"Andi Weimann was very inspirational. He scored himself and made Christian`s goal. He keeps going, it`s unbelievable. If you see his workrate stats, it`s crazy actually and again he was massive for us."
And it seems players want him to say... too ******* right. I`d be gutted, nay, distraught... nay, gutted AND distraught if we let a player like this go.
"I don`t know much about it (the contract) but I heard they are talking to each other. Of course, it`s very important he stays playing for Aston Villa."
He adds, "I think he`s improving. He`s also pushing for the Austria senior squad. He`s working very hard and improving every day. So that`s very good, for us and for him as well."
Put simply, Andi Weimann will be one hell of a player and MUST stay at Villa. Gulp...
