This is starting to become a habit, two Villa players have been selected in the BBC Team of the Week again.
The clear Men of the Match from the QPR encounter, Brad Guzan and Andreas Weimann have both been picked out for their sterling performances by Garth Crooks.
Speaking about Guzan, Crooks said:
'The No1 spot must go to Guzan. If it had not been for the USA goalkeeper, Villa may well have gone into the half time break 4-1 down against QPR. His save from Samba was breathtaking.'
Crooks continues to say that the stats have Guzan down as making 100 saves in the Premier League this season, and he is one of only three keepers to hit that mark so far this season.
Speaking about Weimann, he said:
'If the game was all about will and commitment then Weimann would be among the top three strikers in the country. This lad just never gives up and it must be sheer joy for manager Paul Lambert and his team mates when the striker gets his rewards and assists. It was Weimann's determination that set the tempo and the tone for Villa's comeback against QPR in what might prove to be the turning point in his club's season.'
Crooks adds that Weimann has played in all seven of our league wins this campaign, and we have failed to win in any of the eight games that he has missed.
Almost ponderous isn't it.
